Philippe L. Labelle : Founder, Chief Executive Officer
A seasoned business professional, Philippe spent most of his career acting as legal counsel to Canadian venture capital and private equity investors in Canada and abroad. Being a true entrepreneur, he launched/participated in multiple startups or projects during the last two decades. While raising a family, building his law practice, and serving on boards of directors, Philippe has also been active as a private investor in technology companies since the 1990s. Amid those experiences, he came up with an idea that is now ZeFridge. Philippe volunteers in the community having been a director of a Montreal shelter for four years and is also an active member on a local school board committee.
Andrew Smith : Chief Information Officer
Andrew has extensive marketing experience spanning several industries and countries. He began with CNET Networks in 1996 and took on various marketing roles over the following years. Andrew was recruited in 2000 to take over marketing responsibilities for the newly created CNET Channel division based in Switzerland. As Product Marketing Manager, Andrew's responsibilities included marketing communications, product marketing, partnerships, PR, and the division's website. In 2004 Andrew became Marketing Manager at Geneva Bioinformatics, where he was responsible for establishing, implementing, and overseeing all marketing activities for the company. Currently based in Montreal, he is now an independent marketing consultant with a global clientele.
Robert Johnson : Chief Technology Officer
Robert has a long track record of successful technology implementation and product releases within both the retail and Internet markets. He began his career in the retail industry where he successfully implemented over 50 successful end-to-end solutions for major retailers across the United States (Barneys, Galyans Trading (Limited), Century 21 Dept. Stores, Jones NY) while working for STS, a Montreal-based company. Robert discovered his love for start-ups and moved forward in his career heading up the technology departments of retail start-ups such as Sneaker Stadium and Delia's Retail Stores. He entered the world of the Internet in 2000 as the CTO of a start-up, Sneakers.com, whose mission was to aggregate small local retailers and give them a strong and unified voice to compete with the major online players that were entering the market. Robert continued his Internet ventures by joining My Virtual Model in 2002. As CTO he brought 3D and Web technology together to offer the best shopping experience on the Web to end-consumers. Robert is also the proud father of two very active boys whose activities and school affairs he manages through the ZeFridge platform.
Lea Mackay-Mejia : Managing Director, USA
Lea is a former corporate executive and management consultant who has worked in North America, Latin America, India, Europe, Asia, and Australia across various industries. Educated in Canada, she was recruited in 1993 by the Colombian government to promote foreign investment during the country's economic opening. In 1999 she earned an MBA in Japan and became a practice leader at the Tokyo offices of Hewitt Associates, a global HR management consultancy. She then joined Guidant Corp., an innovator in the life sciences industry, to oversee corporate marketing and leadership development for its Japan operations. Now based in California, Lea uses her diverse perspective on work and family cultures to build Zefridge's content, always with an eye to streamlining and invigorating the daily lives of its community of users.
